Father's Day is coming up on the 20th, and the Drunken Stampers are celebrating with this week's Challenge!
That's my Dad, John Ledbetter, in the photo, with the little girl who would grow up to be his biggest admirer (and undoubtedly his biggest headache, too!). I'm very proud of my Dad. He has a lovably grumpy demeanor, a wicked sense of humor (yes, this is where my "smartass" gene came from), and a huge heart. When I was trying to figure out the text for his Father's Day card, I just kept coming back to the most important thing I know about Dad: He has always, always been there for me.
He's also the kind of guy who can fix anything, and that's exactly what he does in his spare time. Dad has been restoring antique gasoline engines for quite a few years, and it's a hobby that's brought him a lot of happiness and a bunch of new friends from all over the county. He's really good at it, too, and has his own blog, 2EngineJohn, where you can see the cool, perfectly-working things he creates with decrepit old machinery:
Here he is now, with one of his projects:
Happy Father's Day, Dad! I love you!
Why don't you come on over to Drunken Stampers and celebrate your dad, too?! Link up your card and tell us a little about him. This Challenge is open through next Friday, and we're really looking forward to seeing you at the party!
Hugs,
Linda

Dear Daughter Linda, What a nice surprise and fathers day card. You are the the best. I Love you as I always have! Your Dad.
P.S. And your Mom feels the same as I do.
I believe the cat is out of the bag! Lovely tribute to your Dad and love the story!
Linda, your father is a very awesome man and I consider it a privalege to know him. He is and always will be a very important memory to my teenage years. I mean "Dad" John putting up with the likes of us while on our many adventures. Oh and we had some good one's if I recall. :) (And "Mama" Pat too!) Remember your scavenger hunt Birthday Party and Rule #1? :) HE HE!! Any way, Happy Fathers Day "Dad" John.

You have a great dad Linda. And he sure have a great daughter - so the two of you go pretty good together I think ;o) The love in this card comes right out trough the computerscreen and puts tears in my eyes. Absolutely fantastic!
We don't celebrate fathersday until November, but maybe I will have to make a "just because" card for my father. He is pretty amazing too!
Good luck with the Tim Holtz challenge kick off tomorrow!
