Compendium of Curiosities Challenge 31!

Rusted Enamel!
Super Special Prize from Tim and Mario!

Just another Manic Monday? Naw, MUCH better: It's another CCC, and we're on lucky number 31! This is one of a handful of the techniques in the book I'd never tried before, and, guys,  I'm HOOKED! What a fun and simple way to make a really cool, distressed background. And, wait until you see it in person-- it really DOES look like enamel!

Grab that fabulous Compendium of Curiosities and open it to page 41, where you'll find Tim's instructions for making your own Rusted Enamel art. I'm really excited to see what you guys come up with using this technique!
This week's prize comes from The Man himself. Two men, actually. Tim and Mario have generously supplied quite a few of our prize packages over the course of the CCC series, every one of which has included something autographed by Tim. This week, we have this awesome collection below,  which includes that gorgeous, signed flourish stamp!

Tim and Mario ROCK, by the way, just in case anyone didn't know that (but I know you did).

To be eligible to win all these Tim-pressive (pun!) goodies, simply create your own art using the Rusted Enamel technique and link it to this blog via the InLinkz button at the bottom of this post. You're in the running as long as you honor these two simple rules:

1. Follow the technique as it's written in A Compendium of Curiosities (adding your own special flair, of course!); and
2. Out of respect to Tim, please don't post the technique instructions on your blog!
Gloria, the lovely List Mom at the All Things Tim group at Yahoo, will also send a lovely gift from her special stash to one lucky participant! Just upload your image to the Compendium of Curiosities folder at the ATT home page, and be sure to tag your photo "CCC #31." If you aren't a member of All Things Tim, please join! It's a great place to meet incredibly nice and talented people.

So, there you go! This Tim Holtz-inspired Rusted Enamel challenge is open until 8 pm (mst) next Sunday, February 13. I am really excited to see what you guys create with this awesome technique. Have a blast!

Big hugs,
Linda

P.S. I'm still making my around around blogland to admire all of last week's submissions, so if you haven't heard from me you will very soon, and deeply I apologize for the delay. My work life has been on hyperdrive for a few weeks now, but things seem to be settling down at last, and I'm so relieved!

You Tim-press us as always, Linda! Wow, what a great prize; it would round out my Tim collection so nicely! Tim and Mario rock, but you rock just as...uh, is it "hard"? "Fast"? Hmmm...gotta think about that one. Anyway, you know what I mean! I can never thank you enough for this "Adventure de Compendium" (I had to get all fancy there 'cause it's so special); I've had such a wonderful time and will hate to see it end!

Your green inks really suit the elephant image.
I did this technique years ago at a stamp camp. Love the look of it! Will try to do this challenge but it's a busy week as I'm going away.

You're so RIGHT ... this technique creates a finish that does emulate very real rusted enamel.

I love the stamping you used, and the colors! Beautiful!

Have a fantastic week: Remember to breathe and smile and laugh. :)

Love this piece Linda. That elephant just does something for me. I never know what to use him on but I had to have him and he's perfect here. My week looks very hectic but I will have to find time to play.
