Happy Weekend! Whew. Made it! And, over at the Drunken Stampers Challenge Blog and Crafting Lounge, we're partying down with the die cuts, making for a very crafty Saturday indeed.
I'll confess, it took Tim Holtz producing his cool Sizzix Alterations dies for me to finally dive into the universe of die cutting, but once I did, I dove big time! Seriously, how cool is it to simply push a button or turn a crank, and, presto change-o, you've got yourself a perfect little shape, ready to be inked or painted or bashed with a texture hammer? It's way cool.
Between Tim's dragonfly (made using parts from his Fanciful Flight die), some Grungeboard flourishes and and a couple of Maya Road chipboard flowers, I've got diecuts all over this little canvas. The background is tissue paper over a thick coat of gesso and a bunch of colors of pink- and orange-toned inks. This was a simple project that for some reason took me hours. I really need to schedule my life better... but that's a completely different blog post.
Peggy, Spike, Tracy and Tash all did an absolutely smashing job with their examples for this challenge, so please go show them some love, then join in and create your own fab diecut art. This party lasts through next Friday, February 24. I implore you: Go have fun and be creative!
