Over at the Gingersnap Creations blog, we're celebrating an arty supply staple that every girl and craft-savvy guy can totally appreciate: Charms!
I've loved charms since I was a little girl enamored with my mom's silver charm bracelet. My favorite was a ponytailed girl's silhouette with my name engraved on it, and my little kid brain just sort of worked out that it came into the world with me (via stork or reed basket or wherever my little kid brain thought I came from). These days, I pounce on every cool charm I can find, but have a put together my own bracelet yet? Um, no.
I do love using charm in my crafting work, though.
I have no idea why the old Fleetwood Mac song, "The Chain," popped into my head when I sat down to work on this challenge, but I figured I'd take any inspiration I could get and borrowed some lyrics. I printed them from my inkjet onto white cardstock, then added the old Acey Deucey image (I'm so sorry, I don't know the title of this unmounted stamp!). I airbrushed it lightly with soft pastel Copic markers, the added the chain and charms, attaching them with Tim Holtz long fasteners and little silver wires. The purple marbled background paper has been in my stash since shortly after the Big Bang.
Yes, I'm that old.
This Gingersnap Creations Spicy Supply Challenge is open through March 6, and we all hope you'll join us in this utterly... (here it comes)... charming challenge!

Well, if that isn't just the koolest image I ever did see, I don't know what is!
You own the coolest stamps in the entire world!
Which only makes sense as you're the coolest artist in the world!
I love your combination of salacious and poignant ... with a slight undercurrent of intimidation. :)

Wonderful card, that image is coolio. Love your airbrushing, always superb. Nothin' like FM on the stereo!
As everyone else agrees, that stamp image is awesome! I too like charms. I have a bracelet and necklace, but never wear them! Maybe I should take them off and use them in my crafts! That way they'd get some exposure!

Totally charming card! Love your lady, but for some reason I now have a certain song stuck in my head.....
I love this and I immediately started singing when I saw it. Yeah, I am that old too. Great interpretation of the song!
Methinks you have your own special charm in just being you, but I love your card. Annette x
I have that stamp too, Linda! I don't remember what it's called, but it's from Lynne Perella's "Goddess" collection; late '90s, I think, is when those came out. I also have paper that PRE-dates the Big Bang, but it's not nearly as pretty as yours. I LOVE using song lyrics in my work; I need to do that more often! Thanks for the inspiration; you always make such interesting and pretty stuff!
Your piece is rather charming, Linda. LOL You did a wonderful job. :) Have a great weekend! Theresa
Rumours was the album I had lol and my hubby loved Stevie Knics lol
Great card loving the air copic touch
Love Dawn xx
I LOVE Fleetwood Mac - great use of the lyrics. I have an FM tattoo but will have to give scrapbooking a page inspired by one of their songs a go too!
