Featuring Special Guest Star Designers
Sponsored by Outlaw Woman Scrapbook Emporium!
Thanks to everyone who helped make Grungy Monday 02 so much fun! Your Distress Ink with Studio Multi Medium art was spectacular, and I hope you had as much fun creating it as I had admiring it.
This week, we're offering a Tim Holtz Product Challenge. Now's your chance to play with (and fall in love with) the new Ranger Adirondack Color Wash! If you've used it, you know how amazing this intense, textile/wood/canvas/paper-friendly spray dye is, and if you haven't used it, it's going to rock your world!
Here's what your GM03 Design Team created to help inspire you:
Hels Sheridan
Kate Taylor
I used Color Wash to make a Faux Batik Silk Scarf:
Please click here for info on how I did it.
We have a sponsor this week! Say hello to Robyn Weinrib and Outlaw Woman Scrapbook Emporium!Outlaw Woman Scrapbook Emporium is wonderful club that offers Heavily Discounted Paper Crafting Supplies to its members, giving artists a means to further themselves and grow in their art without breaking the bank! Membership is free, and once you join you're able to view prices and shop at the Emporium. You'll also be part of their Yahoo Group, where you'll join online friends to discuss products and enjoy special challenges and swaps in a supportive community.
Outlaw Women Scrapbook Emporium is a division of Robyn Weinrib's I Did It Creations. Robyn and her Outlaw Woman co-proprietor, Jeanette Waters, are both are avid scrapbookers, stampers and mixed media artists, and they work hard to supply their shop with virtually every papercrafting product on the market. Their partnership is built on deep friendship in which they share the same goals for women in the art community. Everyone is invited to join their club and shop in the Emporium! As Robyn says, "So many times in our economy we put our creating on the back burner. With the prices at OWSE, no longer does our art have to take the back burner. We can afford to create and at times sell our creations and grow in our own inner selves through our artwork and creativity."
Robyn is generously offering a $20 gift certificate to the winner of this week's challenge! To be eligible, simply create your own work of art for Grungy Monday 03 and link it to this post before the challenge ends on Sunday, April 17 at 8 pm MDT. Robyn will choose the winner and I'll announce their name on my blog on or before Thursday, April 21. Please be aware that, since there's very little markup on the products in the shop, the winner will need to pay shipping on their prize.
Please be aware, since this is a Tim Holtz Product-Specific Challenge, you are required to use actual Ranger Adirondack Color Wash to participate.
You'll need to have your own blog or an online, public photo album to link from, and you can easily submit your work using the InLinkz gadget at the end of this post.

Please be sure to include a link to Tim's website (www.timholtz.com) in your blog post or photo description. I'd appreciate it if you'd link back to Studio L3, too!
By the way, Robyn also has a fabulous digital art shop of her own. Check out Robyn's Fetish via this link.
Don't forget to share your art at the All Things Tim group! Lovely List Mom Gloria has created a photo especially for Grungy Monday. You'll love the community there, and find TONS of inspiration and support!
Okay, Tim Fans, go forth and create! I can't WAIT to see what you do with Color Wash, and I hope you have a great week.

Ohhhh, it's spectacular, Linda! The colors you chose and the little umbrella man is perfect. Just luscious!
The samples are fabulous. Too bad - I'll have to miss this one - no color washes in my stash.
Wonderful samples. Thanks!..Donna
Wow ladies, you rocked it! And Linda, I just love the scarf! I do happen to own several color washes so I am all set for this one.
Gorgeous scarf. I haven't been brave enough to try anything on silk yet. I love the diversity of your projects and challenges. I'll miss this one as I don't have any color wash, and over spent at the CK Convention, but I'll check in to see the many submissions that I'm sure you'll have.
Beautiful samples, loving the scarf Linda, can't believe I had to miss last weeks challenge but I'll be home Thursday so will just have time to do this one, and I just brought some colour washes woo hoo
Love all the work here. I just got my tags in the mail, I hope
I can find the color wash locally! Fab way to see new products in action, thanks.
I am with a few others and have no color wash spray and the nearest craft store is 45 minutes away! I have all the reinkers and usually make my own??? Love your scrarf, Linda! Beautiful colors and of course images! Awesome creations from the GDT!
Great new challenge! And I have one bottle so I can play!
Gorgeous samples, and a great team too! *wink*!! Hoping might find a minute or two to do this one..
Hugsx
Fun stuff! I had to clean my kitchen floor off when the spray went beyond the giant sports posters I used for a workspace on the floor. Some day I need to try it on fabric. Beautiful examples from all of you!
lovely inspirational pieces but can't play this week as I don't have any colour wash sprays......sob sob
hugs
Beautiful creations by the design team. I don't have any color washes only PP mists I've made.
All those projects are gorgeous! Linda, that scarf is beautiful! I am going to have to sit this one out since I don't any color washes and I wouldn't be able to have any shipped on time. I'll check back in next week!
The samples are gorgeous!!!
I'll have to miss this one - no color washes in my stash :o((
Can we use re-inker washes instead?
You have all 3 made some beautiful entries. I have gone simple with a tag, hope you like it.
Fantastic samples! What a gorgeous scarf Linda and the Hels tag and Kate's canvas are fantastic.
Hi Linda,
That faux batik scarf is the most fantastic thing I ever saw! I have to make one. Using the T!m image was brillant!

Hey Blog Friends!
Several people have asked if they can substitute a different product for the Color Wash in this challenge, and I want to address that here.
While it won't happen often, every once in a while the Grungy Monday challenge will be centered around a certain Tim Holtz product, and this is one of those weeks. Please keep in mind that for challenges like this that are truly product-specific, it's really important to use that actual item in the artwork you submit. This isn't meant to exclude anyone, but to introduce you to something new that you can use in your artwork for a long time to come. I promise that next week will offer something less product-specific!
Color Wash is so completely different than anything else in the Ranger line (or any other line I've seen, actually!) that there's really no way to substitute for it, anyway. Even if you don't have any now and can't get it in time for this challenge, I hope you'll pick some up and try it when you have the opportunity. It's so much fun to use! The colors are VERY saturated, permanent, and intense, and the effect is quite different than what you'd get by using reinker in a Mini Mister.
Please check out the submissions as they roll in so that when you're ready to play with Color Wash, you'll have all kinds of great inspiration to get you started!
Hugs and Thanks!
Linda
Fab inspiration from the DT. I love your scarf, really beautiful.
Sue :)

Linda, you have no idea how much you inspire me!!! I really appreciate that you have stopped by to comment on my last two GM posts, thank you so very much.
Great theme and wonderful inspiration.
Such beautiful work Linda, and I love your scarf, I may have to give that a try. Just lovely.
Great pieces from the DT, all three very varied and unique, love them all. Great use of the Color Wash on all three pieces. Great challenge Linda, thank you. Tracy Evans x x
Linda, your scarf is to die for. Oops ... dye for ... no pun intended ! Love it. Love it.
Marilyn
What lovely pieces from Hels and Kate! And your scarf is so beautiful, Linda! :) Theresa
Wonderful entries already, not to mention Hels, Kate, and your scarf. Love adding to my stash. Had lots of fun with this one.
Can't play this week but I am sure I will be able to join in again next week. I will be looking at the posts to see why this ink is SO good but I usually agree when Ranger is the product (just not the crackle paints) they dry out and are unusable after a few months.
D xx
Great DT pieces love your scarf and the colour is fabulous! I have one bottle so I can play!!
Well, I'll have to give this week's challenge a miss like last week (with the lack of Multi Medium), as I don't have Color Wash either, can't get it locally and deliveries usually take 5 to 6 days here. But I have been really enjoying looking at all the posts which are always inspiring - wish I had the time to comment to each one individually. Great work everyone!
Fantastic inspiration this week Linda! I love your fabulous scarf. Hels tag is beautiful, & I was definitely inspired by Kate's stunning canvas! Great challenge! xx
INCREDIBLE Samples! Thanks for the wonderful inspiration! Linda, you rock!
Wonderful samples by Hels and Kate!!!! And Linda your scarf is awesome!!!!
Linda, you and the designers of the week did an amazing job showing off what can be done with Color Wash!
I bet your batik-style scarf is copied and draped around the necks of every blogger between here and the moon!
I had fun with my tag, I can't wait to show it to my grandson! I used Meadow & Sailboat Blue Colorwash Sprays.
I LOVE the scarf. Who'd have thought. I have loved all the fabric pieces this challenge. I need to get that muslin out of the sewing box and into the stamping room! Thank you SO much for Grungy Monday!
Thanks for another great challenge this week. I am certainly learning alot. Loved how your scarf turned out. Hope to try the technique soon. Can't wait to see what suprise you have in instore for Monday.
