Hard to believe that with this, we're already 1/3 of the way through this year's 12 Tags of Christmas, but like this entire years seems to have done, this celebration is flying by!
I immediately fell in love with the tag when I saw it on Tim's blog this morning. The dreamy, misty background, the cool wintery blues, the beautifully crackled snowman... I couldn't wait to re-create it! But, having spent the entire evening doing and re-doing this, I've realized that either:
a. The Snowman doesn't like me, or
b. I'm crackle impaired, or
c. Both of the above.
Tim always manages to get those perfect, delicate little crackles, where mine look more like... well, what I'd imagine a window would look like if a paint can sneezed on it. Blob. crackle-crackle-crackle, BIG blob... you can plainly see what I mean by looking at my snowman (who is plotting against me as I type). Nonetheless, I had a blast making this, and will probably give it another try to see if perhaps Frosty and I can achieve détente.
Here comes Monday, just an hour away, and Tag 5 comes with it. Can't wait!!!
Hugs,
Linda

Fab tag Linda; and I know exactly what you mean with the crackle. Everything just lies down and behaves for Tim and misbehaves for us poor mortals! Still fun though. I've got to play catch up today for the weekends tags so hopefully my crackle will behave too.
Great tag - I had better luck this time with my crackle than I usually do.... wonder what today will bring!
Another great tag Linda I had to improvise with mine - a lot crackles behaved very well for me - this time!! Will post it later today.

Hi Linda: Ohhh, I know exactly what you mean about the crackle. I did three before I was happy...took all day yesterday die cutting, drying, etc. I tried to hasten one along with my heat gun--poor snowman wrinkled up completely.
My last attempt the crackle did well on the hat and face area, and hardly anything on the rest. Oh well, I posted it anyhow.
We need Tim right there looking over our shoulder, don't we??
I think yours came out well, and I like the hanging pearl at the top.
Oh thank goodness it's not only me who's incapable of using the crackle! Mine went into icky blotches and was just awful. Decided that lumpy and bumpy was a vintage look but I think I'm kidding myself!!! Love your tag and your snowman looks terrific even if his birth was a little traumatic!
I think your snowman is fabulous. All your crackling just added more beautiful color variation. That is the thing about crackle, it does what it does. Your tag is beautiful!
Oh Linda, I think you did a great job! I know what you mean though. In Tim's hands everything becomes magical!

I think your tag looks awesome!! Crackle has a mind of its own and I believe the humidity level has a lot to do with it. lol I'm behind so I havent tried this tag yet, but will in the morning... and it's rainy here so I wont get much crackling.
Hey Linda, I'm so far behind. I've been playing in Tim's 12 days of Christmas tags too, but only going to do a post every few days. I just can't keep up. Your tags look awesome!!! I'm off to try and upload on your blog link? I think!!!
hugs Lynn
I think it came out beautiful Linda! I am crackle impaired also so I totally understand what you meant. My crackle didn't even crack.
I love your tags Linda, such a beautiful and elegant feminine touch to them.....Pierrette
I think it looks really great, Linda. :) I STILL can't use crackle properly - you do really awesome work - never forget that!
I love your snowman!
