A Compendium of Curiosities 2 Challenge Begins!

Techinique 1: Custom Foam Stamps
A Compendium of Curiosities Volume 2, page 66

Happy Friday everyone, and a huge WELCOME! I've been looking forward to this day for a long time... in fact, since the day we completed the Compendium of Curiosities 1 Challenge, and I'm delighted to share this journey through Tim Holtz's latest book with all of you!

We're starting off with a fun and simple technique, Custom Foam Stamps, which you'll find of page 66 of  Compendium, Vol. 2. If you haven't gotten your copy yet, there are plenty available from Tim, who will kindly autograph it for you. Visit his site to place your order.

We have an awesome sponsor to help us kick things off...

Simon Says Stamp

Simon Says Stamp, will give a $25 gift certificate to one randomly-chosen participant in this week's challenge! The winner will be announced at their blog soon after the challenge closes.

______________

How to Play Along At Home:
To participate in CC2C #1, and be eligible to win the Simon Says Stamp shopping spree, create your own work of art using the Custom Foam Stamps technique on page 66,  and link it to this blog using the InLinkz button at the bottom of this post. You're in the running as long as you honor these simple rules:
Follow the technique as it's written in A Compendium of Curiosities 2 (adding your own special flair, of course!), and clearly state that the technique comes from Tim's book
Include a link to this post in your blog post (or photo description if you're linking from an online photo-sharing site).
Also include a link to our sponsor, www.simonsaysstamp.com
Out of respect to Tim, please don't post the technique instructions on your blog! Any entries that don't follow this rule will be unlinked.
Please see the CC2C FAQ here for more information.

I am SO excited to see what you create with Custom Foam Stamps. Have a blast getting inky, everyone!

Hugs,
Linda

Better try and get some foam tomorrow when I try and get the book (am going to a stamp show here in the UK and I'm excited...) so I can hit the ground running...!!
So good to have the CC2C back!

fun!! Just to clarify, down in the linky instructions you say "Please remember to include a link to the technique on Tim Holtz's blog in your post." Is that relevant to this challenge (since he might not have shared said technique on his blog and if so we'd have to try to find it)?

I'm so excited!!! I could not wait for this to begin :)
I'm truly looking forward to all of the challenges. Thank you so much for all of your planning with this series Linda.

Hello Linda,

you really are someone with perseverance !
It's been a while since I participated in your challenge, but that's because I have so much creative projects going on.

I still like the idea of your challenge cause I know it does push some people to start creating.

It took me some more time that you in the US to get my hands on the new book, but as soon as I knew about it , I ordered it and it's safely in my hands.
Another winner of Tim...

Eileen mentioned your challenge of the new book , so I took time between creating for other projects what you challenged us with.

The foam stamp ! I cut some new ones to use with the spinner cards I have been making .
I just cheated a little bit. My card is one of the spinner cards I posted about past weekend, a day before your challenge was posted... I did an EDIT on the blogpost, cause I really liked to show you what i've done with the foamstamp...

greetings from belgium
Inge

What a great idea for a challenge!! So glad I found you!!

I have a question, though. I don't have a blog. I post my work in a gallery hosted by a shopping site. Can I still play along? It would be against site rules for me to link to another shopping site (ie: the great sponsors you have lined up)

If not, what are my alternatives?
Thanks so much for hosting this! Really looking forward to it!!

Linda Ledbetter said...

Hi Kim 222!

Probably the easiest way would be to create a free photo gallery at Flickr or Photobucket and link from there. One of this week's entrants used Flickr and it worked perfectly!

Thanks for asking! I hope you join in!

I am so excited Linda to be able to actively partake this round. Unknowingly, you helped to inspire me to complete my blog design to enable me to post my projects and participate in all the fun. I have been a long time admirer and follower of your talent. Have a great day!

Linda, I managed to get the first challenge done... wasn't sure I'd have time!! Hopefully I'll get to do them all. I know there is no way you have time to visit everyone but along with my entry I also posted pictures of where I have all my projects from the first CCChallenges and thought you might enjoy seeing them. Thanks for all your time and effort with these challenges!!! Your card is beautiful!!!
