Hey blog friends, I'm extending Challenge 10 for a full week! My current (temporary!) schedule of 13-hour graveyard shifts at work has left me, well, completely stupid and unable to operate a glue stick. So... you have another week to submit your Tissue Wrap Flower art for a chance to win the Funkie Junkie Boutique gift certificate, and you're welcome to enter more than once.
Thanks for your patience while I test my workday fortitude!
Technique 10: Tissue Wrap Flowers
Tim Holtz: A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2, page 37
Sponsored by The Funkie Junkie's Boutique
Happy Friday, blog friends!
This last "official" week of spring here in the northern hemisphere seems like a good time to play with Tim's ingenious Tissue Wrap Flowers! I went nuts over these when he introduced them during 12 Tags of Christmas last year, and have used them quite a bit in my art ever since. They're beautiful and a blast to make. I like to punch up the color with Alcohol Inks, but they're elegant and versatile uncolored, too.
They give great dimension to a card, but you can use the same technique with larger pieces of Tissue Wrap to create a full-on bouquet:
I love this stuff!!!
It's the third Friday of the month, and that means our challenge is sponsored by the awesome Funkie Junkie Boutique, who is graciously offering a $25 gift certificate to the winner of this week's challenge!

To participate in CC2C #10, create your own work of art using the Tissue Wrap Flower technique on page 37 and link it to this blog using the InLinkz button at the bottom of this post. You're in the groove as long as you honor these simple rules:
Follow the technique as it's written in A Compendium of Curiosities, Vol. 2 (adding your own special flair, of course!), and clearly state that the technique comes from Tim Holtz's book.
Include a link to this post in your blog post (or photo description if you're linking from an online photo-sharing site).
To be eligible to win the sponsor's prize, please include a link to The Funkie Junkie Boutique (http://www.zibbet.com/TheFunkieJunkie).
Out of respect to Tim, please don't post the technique instructions on your blog! Any entries that don't follow this rule will be unlinked.
This challenge closes on Thursday, June 28 at 8 pm MTD.
Please see the CC2C FAQ here for more information.

More good news: Simon Says Stamp has chosen the winner for Challenge 9! Click here for their blog post! Thanks to everyone at Simon Says for their awesome generosity!
Okay, guys, go rock those Tissue Wrap flowers! I hope you have a great weekend, and happy Fathers Day to all the dads out there.
Hugs,
Linda
P.S. If you don't have them on hand, you'll want to get a bottle of Picket Fence Distress Stain, some Ranger Metal Foil Tape, some of Tim's Core'dinations paper, Kraft Glassine and Ranger Ink Refresher to add to your stash for upcoming challenges (not necessarily in that order). Also, get yourself a new Configurations box-- any size you like. I'll try to let you guys know in plenty of time when a challenge is coming up that requires a specific product beyond the standard Tim Holtz stash items.

Your flowers are beautiful. This should be a fun week!
Beautiful, really beautiful.
One day I'll get this book.... I adore Tim Holtz and have been using his inks and distressed stamps on my ceramic tiles....
Not my favourite technique!!! My flowers just never look 'neat'! But that's the fun of these challenges...to try,try and try again... which I will definitely do!
Haven't tried these flowers so it will be great to try.... I love your gorgeous colours.
these flowers are so pretty, I'll have to get some of Tim's tissue paper
Hi Linda...
Can't the winners of the challenges not be posted here as well please? I keep going to the sponsors blogs, but up till now have never been able to see any winner announcements of the challenges?
What a fun challenge this is--I look forward to each Friday! This technique is special to me, as it was a technique used on one of the 12 Tags of Christmas last year, right after I discovered the whole Tim Holtz technique craziness. I would never have thought I could "make" anything like this myself, but following his directions, I did it, and it gave me the encouragement to continue on--I've learned so much, and it is such fun!
Love your card and your bouket...as my dearly missed dad used to call them!
This was such a fun technique to try this week Linda. Yours are really beautiful and lovely colours

Wonderful projects Linda, & another great challenge

This is one I probably wouldn't have done on my own...and yet surprisingly cool once I got it! Thanks again for these challenges. And I love your bouquet!
Might not have got round to this technique, so glad for the prompt!
Will be trying these again, LOVED THEM.
Avril
Linda, I love your flowers. As always you technique looks perfect.
LOL.I was trying to post my piece, under the wire, when I saw your message about the deadline extension! You poor thing! Hope the work schedule isn't too grueling for very long! Take care of you.
completely understandable! I hope you can get some rest soon.
LOL "Unable to operate a glue stick" Believe me, I totally get it! After 30+ years of shift work I spend a lot of my time in a daze.
Actually glad for the delay - I'd agreed to work extra this week!
Please be extra kind to yourself while you're coping with the changes of the new job.
Can someone tell me why my name has a red x by it I am number 50 and I feel like I have done everything correctly even though this is my first time joining. Lesa
Your flowers are absolutely stunning Linda! I never would have thought to use the ink sprays on the tissue wrap. Love that stuff and had so much fun playing with it for this challenge. Thanks for another great one!
Lesa, the little red X is visible only to you, and means you have the option to delete your photo if, for instance, you accidentally uploaded the wrong image. Everyone who adds a link can see one on their own entry.
Thanks for joining the challenge!
This piece is gorgeous Linda! Had some fun making these floweres though I think you have the knack!! Didn't think I was going to be able to take part this week but thanks to you keeping it open another week I have! Yeah!
Hugs

Flowers are just beautiful.
Love your flowers, thank you for the extra week, it gave me time to make mine.

Beautiful flowers Linda! Thank you for the additional week: I would have missed another deadline without the extension!
I hope your schedule is back to normal!
